All NHI programs are staffed accordingly with the appropriate adult (18+) volunteers to students. In addition, NHI staff stay onsite for student safety and security. Students are assigned an adult volunteer as a chaperone/coach that work with students throughout the entire program, as well as room checks at night. All students are assigned one roommate and are housed in female only dorms and male only dorms. All adult volunteer staff stay on campus and in the dorms with the students. This ensures proper oversight in the evening.

NHI takes student safety and security seriously and provide extensive talks with students on program boundaries. NHI encourages a “buddy” system where students walk in pairs around campus. Students are never permitted to leave campus unless a written letter from their parents has been received.

Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed at the program for student safety and security purposes.

Parents & Families

Parents and family are welcome to attend ONLY a couple of program events, but must check in the program On-Site Director.
